Reflections 2011-2012
What Is Reflections?
The CT PTSA through National PTA holds an annual cultural arts program called "Reflections". Children, preschool through grade 12, are encouraged to create, and submit works of art in six areas: Literature, Visual Arts, Photography, Dance Choreography, Film/Video and Musical Composition. The Reflections Program allows PTAs throughout the state to recognize children for their creativity in portraying yearly themes. If a child's artwork is selected at the school level, it will be sent to the state and compete at the state level. If it is selected at the state level, it will compete nationally. Teachers, parents, children and the community can get involved in enhancing arts education through the Reflections Program.
Soon your children will be coming home with information about entering the Reflections Art Contest. The theme this year is "DIVERSITY MEANS". Please work with your children and encourage them to participate in this program.
If you are anxious to get started, you can find all of the information you need online at http://www.ctpta.org/News/Reflections-Documents.html. Feel free to contact Lauren Caiati at lcaiati@aol.com or 255-6898 with any questions. Your child's teacher, Mrs. Lynch and Mrs. Cardillo are all on hand to help also! Submissions can be left in the Reflections Box in the art room.
The Deadline for the Reflections entries is 12/23 in the Reflections Box in the art room.
