TO ALL 4TH GRADE PARENTS
- Would you like to be involved in your child’s education?
- Do you enjoy learning about your natural environment?
- Would you like to HAVE FUN with your child outdoors?
If so, River-Lab is the PROGRAM FOR YOU!
Your child's first science unit this year will be River-Lab, a hands-on environmental science program for grades 3-6. In 4th grade, concepts presented in the classroom are reinforced during a visit to Perry’s Mill Open Space.
This is where you come in! All River-Lab guides are volunteers. They are parents with children in the school system or grandparents and community members.
Each volunteer will guide a small group of students when the class visits the open space. No need to worry – we train you and give you a script to follow.
What better way to learn along with your child about important environmental concepts?
PLEASE JOIN US AS A VOLUNTEER!
The children love River-Lab because they are outside learning about the nature that surrounds them every day. You will be fascinated by the information that you learn about our local environment and how we affect it!
Make this program a part of your commitment to your community and your child.
Call your captain for training and guiding details. We would love to have you join our team.
